Global Fund for Children books are produced by a unique social-enterprise venture between The Global Fund for Children, a nonprofit organization, and Charlesbridge Publishing, a for-profit children’s book publisher that specializes in multicultural and educational materials for children. The Global Fund for Children provides creative content and pursues niche-marketing for our books while Charlesbridge handles the editing, production, marketing, and distribution.

This innovative alliance gives GFC the creative freedom to develop new books and reach an ever-expanding audience of children, brings these books credibility and high production values, and ensures that each book will remain true to The Global Fund for Children's mission. This partnership also allows The Global Fund for Children to apply a portion of the proceeds it receives from the sale of books to the support of community-based groups around the world. When the partnership began in 1997, it represented, to our knowledge, the first such nonprofit/for-profit alliance in the publishing industry.

International Center of Photography

The Global Fund for Children and the International Center of Photography (ICP) jointly administer a fellowship program that sends promising photographers to developing countries to capture positive images of children. The Global Fund for Children’s vision of a world where children grow up to be productive, caring citizens of a global society complements ICP’s emphasis on photography's role in promoting social justice. Through this program, The Global Fund for Children seeks to use the power of photography to highlight the hope and opportunity cultivated by its grantee partners in the vulnerable children they serve. ICP seeks to inspire select students and teachers to practice documentary photography by giving them the opportunity to travel to The Global Fund for Children's grantee partners around the world.
