Yvonne Wakim Dennis
Coauthor, Children of Native America Today

Yvonne Wakim Dennis is a writer, curriculum developer, multicultural consultant, and social worker. She is Cherokee and Arab and is the author of several nonfiction books on Native American peoples and cultures for young people, including three with Children of Native America Today coauthor Arlene Hirschfelder. Yvonne creates educational resource materials on Native American peoples and cultural diversity. As a multicultural consultant, she has advised large corporations, schools, universities, community organizations, and state and federal government agencies. Yvonne is the coordinator of Nitchen's Family Awareness Network, a New York City–based program for urban American Indian families.
Yvonne lives in New York City and in Bushkill, Pennsylvania. She is married and the mother of one son.
