MEET THE CREATIVE FORCES BEHIND GLOBAL FUND FOR CHILDREN BOOKS
Elaine Little
Photographer, My Family

Elaine Little is a documentary photographer who captures the realities of everyday life and how young people live, learn, work, and play. From remote Ecuadorian villages to the townships of South Africa, from the schools of Harlem to the streets of Sao Paulo, Elaine has photographed candid moments in the lives of children and their families in more than forty countries.
For almost two decades, Elaine has worked with organizations dedicated to children and families—helping them to effectively communicate their mission through the use of powerful and authentic images. In 1991, she founded World Photo Images, which works through photo-essays, books, exhibits, multimedia presentations, and other media to educate audiences about the plight and promise of today’s young people. She is the photographer of My Family and a longtime contributor to other Global Fund for Children books. Her award-winning photo documentary on domestic violence is used by hundreds of shelters throughout the United States to help educate communities about this crisis.
A graduate in communications from the University of Colorado, Elaine lives in Maryland with her daughter and husband.
