Girls and Young Women
Guatemala
In many corners of the world, girls and young women suffer routine indignity and exploitation, curtailed educational and economic opportunities, lack of agency and self-determination, and pervasive gender discrimination. They are more likely than boys and young men to be affected by trafficking, sexual exploitation, child marriage, and other forms of violence and abuse.
GFC acknowledges that the conditions that feed these cycles of exploitation often require solutions specifically tailored to girls, and has a long history of funding groups that work with adolescent girls.
