South America Knowledge Exchange
Pakistan
In November 2007, GFC convened its first South-American Knowledge Exchange workshop, bringing together a total of 20 partners from Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, and Haiti. Participants met in Cusco, Peru, over three days to share experiences, lessons learned, successes and mistakes as community-based organizations supporting vulnerable children.
Session highlights included:
- Building stronger relationships with international donors
- Assessing and developing strategic alliances
- Defining and identifying best practices
- Systems and practices for better monitoring and evaluation, staff training, and financial sustainability
- Creating systems and practices for better monitoring and evaluation through a hands-on exercise and site-visit
Follow-up plans for each organization have been formally identified and will be followed up. Additionally, many organizations have requested the support of another partner organization, and GFC will encourage continued communication.
