The Books for Kids project donates Global Fund for Children books and resource guides to community-based literacy groups. Books for Kids specifically targets groups that focus on literacy for children and families and that demonstrate a pressing need for educational materials. Through these donations, The Global Fund for Children hopes to reach children who may not otherwise have access to new and quality books.
By donating books that portray positive images of young people and encourage dialogue on issues of cultural diversity, Books for Kids advances our mission of helping children to become productive, caring members of a global society. Books for Kids has been an integral part of our work since 1996, when three copies of Children from Australia to Zimbabwe were donated to each public elementary school in North Carolina.
Since 1996, the Books for Kids project has donated over 85,000 Global Fund for Children books, with a retail value of more than $1 million, to organizations and programs promoting children’s literacy all over the world.
Regrettably, we are unable to take Books for Kids applications at this time. Thank you.
