High Risks, Bigger Rewards

Our grantmaking model requires our team to search the globe for innovative and emerging grassroots groups. Seeing their potential—and investing in its fulfillment—is what we do best.

Our Venture Philanthropy Model

We invest in grassroots groups operating in areas often overlooked by governmental and international aid agencies.

  • 78 percent of our partners have budgets under $100,000 at the time of our first grant.
  • For 45 percent of our partners, we are the first US-based institutional funder.

Broad Impact, Lasting Results

Our grantee partners’ sustainability and accomplishments testify to our model’s success.

  • Through the work of our partners, we have touched the lives of over 7 million children worldwide.
  • We estimate that 92 percent of the groups we have funded are continuing their important work today.
