Our vision is for all children to have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. The most vulnerable children on our planet are often those hardest to reach—they work behind closed doors, live in remote areas, roam the streets. We believe community-based organizations are the best positioned to reach these children and to provide them with the programs and services they need.

Homegrown
Our grantees are led by people who live and work in the community. Grassroots groups are not imported solutions—they are trusted local resources.
Rooted
The organizations we fund existed before we got there, and will continue long after we leave. They are committed to their community because it is their home.
Innovative
Because they have direct contact with the children they serve, our grantees see firsthand what works and what does not. They tackle old problems in new ways, using innovation and creativity to maximize effectiveness.
Nimble
Our partners are on the ground—they can adapt quickly to fluctuations in community needs and context. In times of emergency, they are some of the earliest responders.
Resourceful
When an organization is rooted in its community, the people involved understand how to communicate with local governments, businesses, media, and other nonprofits to encourage collaboration.
